Ford Trucks Vs. Tesla Cybertruck

Recently Tesla was shown in a literal tug of war with a Ford F-150 in a video that went viral on the internet. While the new Cybertruck is impressive with its abilities it should be noted that there was an uneven match with this truck faceoff.

The Ford truck that was used in the tug of war was a rear-wheel drive, 2.7 liter Ecoboost V6 engine, and while this truck can handle everyday payloads it was no match for the Cybertruck with three electric motors.

However, had the team at Tesla chosen a more evenly matched opponent they would have a wide variety of Ford trucks to face, with much more power, and most importantly all wheel drive.

A potential rematch that would prove to be much more balanced could be between a number of Ford Trucks. If Ford is facing most likely the three motor powered Tesla Cybertruck, then perhaps a worthy opponent would not be the standard Ford f150, but rather the Super Duty Ford F-250 line of trucks. The powertrains available for F250’s start from a 6.2 Liter flex fuel V8, followed by the 6.7 Liter Powerstroke V8 turbo diesel, and finish with the 7.3 Liter V8 engine.

Combine these powertrains with an available 10 speed automatic transmission, with available tow/haul drive modes then perhaps a potential Ford vs. Tesla Cybertruck rematch would be much more of a fair tug of war.
